Autism File USA and Autism Science Digest

I started working with Fiona when I became US/Canada editor of the Autism File magazine in around 2010. Article authors would comment to me favorably about the appearance of the magazine layout under Fiona’s hand. An exacting editor, I would send her multitudes of edits that she would need to meticulously adjust in the typography, while also handling any shifts in overall article layout. Fiona and I spent long hours working very hard together across the ocean by email and telephone – two people together doing the work of entire graphics and editorial departments. Nicely accessible, Fiona would help achieve seemingly impossible deadlines. The magazine was even nominated for an International Design award. When I left the Autism File some years thereafter, I started another magazine called Autism Science Digest, The Journal of AutismOne. I employed Fiona who also served as designer for this and several book projects in which I was involved. She also designed the covers, including composing freehand artwork. Additionally, she designed many program guide covers and booklets, and marketing flyers for the large conference I run; this has included her producing stunning, beautiful work. How fortunate I have been to work with such a skilled, industrious, accessible, and personable artist as Fiona! I highly recommend her.
